Robert Altman, the legendary and trail-blazing film director has died this 20th of November, 2006, in hospital in Los Angeles, at the age of 81.

Altman who, as the "Guardian Weekly" declared, had found in Elliott Gould "the De Niro to his Scorsese", directed Gould in 'M*A*S*H', 'The Long Goodbye', 'California Split', 'Nashville' and 'The Player'.

Altman's more recent films include 'Gosford Park' and 'A Prairie Home Companion'.

Elliott Gould to appear in St. Urbains Horseman

Gaucher Disease

September 2005 has been designated as National Gaucher Disease Awareness Month and Elliott Gould hosts and narrates the new DVD "A Message to Elijah", a documentary to promote knowledge of this painful and debilitating disorder.

"Although only one in 100/200 people in the general population may be carriers of a gene mutation that causes Type 1 Gauchers disease, as many as one in 10 Ashkenazi Jews carry this inactive genetic trait. When two parents are Gaucher gene carriers, each of their children has a 25 percent chance of inheriting the disease."
